Recommend vidgames for PS3?

ETA: Thanks so much for all the recommendations thus far. I now have a fair size list on my Amazon Wish List!

Plus a recommendation to the developers that they port Mass Effect to either the PS3, the Wii, or the Mac so I can see what the fuss is about.

It appears -- barring disaster -- that for a combo of Father's Day and my birthday we'll finally be getting a PS3.

Naturally, this means I'll need to get some games for it.

I'm primarily an RPG enthusiast, with my top RPGs including Persona 4 and Persona 3 (I tried SMT: Nocturne and while it was very interesting it quickly went to "Way Too Hard Work for Minimal Personal Interaction"), Star Ocean 3, and (old school) Chrono Trigger. I've also enjoyed Neverwinter Nights 1/2 on my Mac. I've generally enjoyed the Final Fantasies even though they don't hit the top level. I enjoyed the original Wild Arms a great deal, the sequels more so-so. I liked Parasite Eve, but it was too short (13 hours start to finish -- I require at least a 1:1 ratio of dollars to play time).

I generally haven't liked the Tomb Raider "action RPG" type games, partly because I just don't have the REFLEXES to learn to do those maneuvers right, and spending 15 minutes to half an hour trying to get across a canyon or something is really quite lame.

So far on my Wish List I've added the new Star Ocean and FFXIII (gotta do your Final Fantasy). Any other suggestions and relatively non-spoilery reasons for the recommendation?

I do like personal interaction options; one of the best features of the Persona games is the development of social links ranging from co-workers to friendships to romances.

I don't mind things that are out of the PG range, as long as  the main playable characters are, or can be, basically decent people and if the non-PG bit is action/gore that it's not gratuitous and overly nasty just for shock value.

Other game recommendations are invited -- while I do mostly play RPGs, a martial combat game like the old Toshinden, etc., wouldnt' be out of the question, or games that the kids might enjoy along with dad.
