This is a nice article on why the the OWS protesters aren't, in fact, against being rich, or getting rich. They (and I agree with them) hate the fact that the Big Boys have Cheat Codes and they don't share. America loves winners, hates sore losers... and REALLY hates cheaters who claim to be winners.
If it's okay for financially incompetent banks to have their debts wiped away and their incompetence rewarded with billions more dollars in interest-free money to play with and a better effective credit rating, then it should be okay for any student or household who finds themselves overloaded with debt to have the debt forgiven and a few hundred thousand dollars more to play with, plus a great credit score.
If, on the other hand, it's not okay for the average person to play the game that way, it shouldn't be okay for the huge banks and super-rich to do it either. If they can't survive by playing by the same rules, why should they survive? Or if they insist on playing by different rules, they shouldn't be judging the OWS protesters who don't have their rule advantages.
